Managing buyer profile, billing address, and password in the portal.

Profile Settings

Buyers can manage their personal information from the Settings page in the portal sidebar. This is where they update their profile details, billing address, and password.

Profile Form

The profile section includes the following editable fields:

  • First Name — The buyer's first name
  • Last Name — The buyer's last name
  • Company — The buyer's business or company name
  • Phone — A contact phone number

After making changes, the buyer clicks Save to update their profile. The changes are automatically synced to Shopify — when the buyer updates their profile in the portal, BulklyCart updates the corresponding Shopify customer record to keep everything consistent.

Billing Address

The Billing Address section lets buyers set or update their business billing address. This address is used as the billing address on their Shopify orders.

Billing Address Fields

  • Address Line 1 — Street address
  • Address Line 2 — Suite, unit, or floor (optional)
  • City
  • Country — Selected from a dropdown of ISO country codes
  • Province/State — This field adapts based on the selected country (see below)
  • Zip/Postal Code

Country-Specific Province/State Fields

The province or state field changes dynamically depending on which country the buyer selects:

  • United States — Shows a dropdown of U.S. states and territories (using standard 2-character codes like CA, NY, TX)
  • Canada — Shows a dropdown of Canadian provinces and territories (ON, QC, BC, etc.)
  • Argentina — Shows a dropdown of Argentine provinces with ISO subdivision codes
  • Australia — Shows a dropdown of Australian states and territories (NSW, QLD, VIC, etc.)
  • Other countries — Shows a free-text input field where the buyer can type their province, region, or state

This smart field behavior ensures addresses are always formatted correctly for each country, which is important for accurate shipping and tax calculations.

Changing Your Password

Buyers can change their portal password from the Settings page:

  1. Scroll to the Password section on the Settings page.
  2. Enter your Current Password — this confirms the buyer's identity before allowing a change.
  3. Enter a New Password — must be at least 6 characters.
  4. Enter the new password again in the Confirm Password field.
  5. Click Update Password.

If the current password is incorrect, the change will be rejected with an error message. This security measure prevents unauthorized password changes even if someone gains access to an unlocked device.

Profile Sync to Shopify

Whenever a buyer updates their profile information (name, phone, company, or billing address), BulklyCart automatically syncs these changes to Shopify. This keeps your Shopify customer database in perfect sync with the portal data, so you always have up-to-date information in your Shopify admin.

This sync happens immediately when the buyer clicks Save — there's no delay or manual sync needed.

Accessing Shipping Addresses

At the bottom of the Settings page (or as a separate sidebar link), buyers will find a link to their Shipping Addresses page. Since B2B businesses often ship to multiple locations, the address book is given its own dedicated section — covered in detail in the Shipping Address Book article.
